For many people, mental health issues and academic needs seem to be separate categories. However, we know at Sage Alliance that, for some students, a blend of mental health supports and academic instruction can allow them to flourish.
We are proud to offer a continuum of care to children and young adults in New Jersey. We believe in meeting students where they are with respect and empathy. Our two accredited programs, available to students grade 8-12, offer children and young adults appropriate supports to overcome the mental health and academic challenges they face.
The Sage Day Program
In our Sage Day program, we endeavor to provide a safe, small therapeutic and challenging educational community that integrates social, emotional and academic growth. This program creates a safe space for students who benefit from additional supports in their school setting to address mental health challenges. While the curriculum and plan for each student is developed individually, this program provides opportunities for students to attend twice-weekly individual and group therapy, family therapy, as part of their school experience.
The New Alliance Program
Offered for high schoolers, the New Alliance program accepts students in acute psychological distress. We integrate educational and ancillary therapeutic services in one location which are expertly provided to help the adolescent return to a least restrictive school setting as soon as possible. Our students gain a deeper understanding of themselves while they receive the tools to move forward in their education and in life. Furthermore, our approach goes beyond the traditional school interactions and actively involves the family to create an action-based plan and ensure a path to successful and lasting recovery.
